Notes from the winemaker:

We are continuing with the tradition of making a Proprietor's Blend wine every year. The difference between this wine and its predecessors is that it is made entirely from Estate grown grapes. This year our Proprietor's Blend consists of 35% Syrah, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Cabernet Franc. Each one of the components was made individually; the Syrah in our submerged cap fermentor and the other two wines in small open top fermentation tanks. They were aged separately in French oak barrels for 12 months, blended together and aged another 4 months before bottling. 

This perfectly balanced wine has concentrated flavors, complexity, finesse and excellent structure. The red raspberry and cherry aromas become more complex on the palate adding layers of black current, plum and black cherry accented with white pepper and baking spices. More dark fruit combined with vanilla, coffee and spice lingers on in the long finish. This blend is interesting since you can identify the components which blend together in perfect harmony.
