Winemaker's Notes:
The grapes for this wine came part from Fred Gunther's vineyard and part from Oakmont Vineyard. The wine was made in our "Submerged Cap Fermentation Tank" and aged for about a year in predominantly French Oak barrels. The aroma of this wine is dominated by dark berries integrated with oak elements. It reminds me of hiking in a Redwood forest. The fruit forward of dark berries grows in intensity in the mid-palate adding layers of chocolate and vanilla. The wine has a long finish with dominating black pepper. Overall, this wine is very well balanced with strong varietal identity.
